Empty Spaces

Empty Spaces
5th to 7th October 2012

Join us on the 5th of October at 7pm to celebrate the opening of our exhibition Empty Spaces. This exhibition features the work of local painter Martin Hill along with additional pieces from other local artists and young people. Through Empty Spaces we have been exploring how nature reclaims property. In our area of the Hilltown, the Derby Street multis have become empty and they will soon be brought down. We visited Butterburn Court in order to be able to reflect on their time here and the memories, some elements of this will be seen through Empty Spaces.

The exhibition will also be open on the 6th and 7th of October from 11am to 4pm.

If you are interested in further information about how you can get involved with sessions aimed at young people or future exhibitions please contact us at enquiry@diaosu.org.uk. Alternatively, speak to us during the Empty Spaces exhibition weekend! We look forward to seeing you there.

Diaosu will be hosting oil painting classes run by Martin Hill. Martin is an established local artist and he will be holding 3 classes, 12th, 19th and 26th of October, 5:30pm – 7:30pm. These are priced at £10 per class and you can book by emailing enquiry@diaosu.org.uk or call 07948 336234.
